The Doll (1910)
In Annecy, a young bourgeois woman falls for a visiting soldier. Amid a military parade, her young daughter slips away unnoticed, crossing train tracks and playing by a stream. After a panicked search, the mother finds only an abandoned doll, fearing the worst. The child suddenly reappears for a tearful reunion, prompting the heartbroken soldier to quietly turn back.
