Carmela Murphy is a stop motion director and filmmaker who creates handcrafted, darkly whimsical, and intimate stories. She holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she created her debut short film, A Bird Hit My Window and Now I'm a Lesbian. This film screened in over 80 film festivals around the world, including Annecy International Animation Film Festival, and Frameline, where she won the Colin Higgins Youth Filmmaker Award. Carmela is currently based out of Denver, Colorado, where she is directing her next stop motion short film, God is a Pelican.
